As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Major responsibilities

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

  • Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

  • Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

  • Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

  • Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

  • Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

  • Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis Requirements - Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

  • Strong analytical capabilities and discernment

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Strong communication and social skills

  • Construction Accounting experience desired

  • Comprehension of financial auditing

  • Monthly Financial Reporting experience highly desired

  • Deep understanding of Analyze Financial Statements

  • Good understanding of Month-end Journal Entries

  • Command of month end closings

  • General familiarity with budget forecasting

  • Practical knowledge of Cash Flow Analysis

  • Wide ranging experience with Cash Flow Analysis

  • Proven knowledge of NetSuite

  • Well-founded grasp of budgeting

  • Previous experience working with Internal Control

  • Quality experience with cash flow management

  • Foundational knowledge in Analyze Financial Statements

  • Skills in auditing

  • Earlier work involving journal entries

  • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
