Robert Half Controller in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Description We are on the hunt for a highly skilled and meticulous Controller to join our team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This role will be instrumental in carrying out financial reporting, budgeting and planning, tax coordination, transaction support, and general management tasks. You'll have the opportunity to work within an engaging and dynamic environment, where your skills in Auditing, Budget Processes, US GAAP, CPA Designation, Financial Reporting, Tax - Form 990, Report Writing, Process Documentation, and Cost Allocation will be essential.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the financial statement preparation process, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements

• Participate in business planning and goal setting processes

• Oversee internal management reports and monthly analysis creation

• Maintain accounting software programs and files to provide accurate data

• Coordinate preparation of annual tax planning and reporting with CPA firm

• Oversee credit and collections, acting as a liaison between the company and customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies

• Review and approve vendor invoices and payroll documents prior to payment

• Oversee the purchasing to pay accounting function, ensuring efficient cash flow management

• Ensure implementation of purchasing authority approvals

• Document accounting policies and procedures

• Collaborate with all levels of management and staff to ensure budget adherence and smooth operations. Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably as a Controller

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required

• Proven experience in auditing, budget processes, and cost allocation

• Strong knowledge and understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

• Proficient in financial reporting and tax form 990 preparation

• Exceptional skills in report writing and process documentation

• Ability to develop, implement and maintain financial control procedures

• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to direct and manage a financial team

• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning skills

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in financial software programs

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaborative work.
