Description
We are offering an opportunity for a Senior Accountant based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This role focuses on providing accounting support to the team, which includes monitoring and reconciling general ledger accounts, creating journal entries, and resolving issues. You will also be involved in wholesale and retail loan processing, account reconciliation, and participating in project and process improvements. This job offers a contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Create journal entries and resolve any issues that arise
• Process and reconcile daily cash settlements for clients
• Maintain and update wholesale loan records and commitment details in the loan accounting system
• Create customer records and set up loans according to requirements from loan officers
• Analyze and process monetary and maintenance transactions in accordance with contract parameters
• Conduct weekly and monthly loan accounting reports
• Handle reconciliation of assigned accounts on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis
• Prepare and calculate significant and/or complex accounting processes
• Participate in Bank and District-wide project teams and lead process improvement efforts
• Respond to client requests and resolve client questions or concerns in a timely manner.

Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required
• Demonstrated experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary
• Familiarity with Oracle and SAP software
• Knowledge of MySQL Database, mSQL, and SQL is a plus
• Proven ability to work in a team and independently
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Professional certification such as CPA is an advantage
