Robert Half Divisional/Plant Controller in Salem, Ohio

Description

The Plant Controller is responsible for providing financial leadership to a manufacturing facility. This will involve strategic planning, budgeting, financial analysis, cost management, project accounting and managing the financial functions of the manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise financial activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and inventory within the plant.

  2. Oversee the preparation of the plant's budgets and financial forecasts.

  3. Perform heavy cost accounting duties such as monitoring standard costing, analyzing variances, conducting cost analysis and cost accounting audits, and making recommendations to improve cost efficiency.

  4. Manage project accounting, including tracking costs, billings, and budget comparisons.

  5. Provide financial planning and strategy guidance to the management team.

  6. Collaborate with other departments to develop cost reduction strategies.

  7. Ensure compliance with business procedures, internal controls, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.

  8. Review and approve capital expenditure requests and monitor capital spending.

  9. Prepare and present monthly financial reports for management's review.

  10. Coordinate and participate in annual audits.

    Requirements

  11. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.

  12. Significant experience in plant controlling, cost accounting, and finance in a manufacturing environment.

  13. Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles and GAAP.

  14. Proficient in financial software and MS Office, especially Excel.

  15. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  16. Strong leadership and management skills.

  17. Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  18. Knowledge of project management principles and practices.

  19. Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines.
