Robert Half Grant Accountant in Salem, Oregon

Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity in the non-profit industry based in Salem, Oregon. The role is for a Grant Accountant who will play a key role in assisting with the financial management and reporting of grant funds. This role will require on-site presence and utilization of various software applications including Abila and Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the drawing down of grants, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Work closely with Accounts Receivable (AR) to manage the AR side of grants, effectively reducing outstanding dues.

• Utilize Abila MIP for various accounting functions, improving efficiency and accuracy of financial data.

• Leverage Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables and use vlookups for data analysis and financial reporting.

• Adhere to government grant accounting standards, ensuring compliance with all regulations and requirements.

• Monitor grant accounts regularly, identifying any discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date grant accounting records, promoting financial transparency and accountability.

• Respond to customer inquiries related to grant accounting, offering timely and accurate information.

• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operations and effective financial management of grants. Requirements • Proficiency in Abila MIP software

• Experience with Government Grants

• Knowledge of Grant Accounting principles and procedures

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Prior experience in a non-profit organization is a plus

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Understanding of financial regulations and legislation.
