Jennie Joiner is seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our client's team in SALEM, Oregon. In this role, you will manage the accounting workflow and provide financial and analytical support to management. Your work will involve complex accounting activities and providing direction to accounting and general administrative staff to ensure complete, accurate, and timely work. The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the accounting workflow, as well as providing financial and analytical support to company management. Responsibilities:
• Manage complex accounting activities to record, analyze and monitor financial information.
• Oversee the monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies and procedures by preparing and reviewing required supporting documentation and financial statements.
• Cover different accounting functional areas including invoice processing, billing, cash receipts, credit analysis, receivable collections, month-end close, journal entries, statistical data, payroll and HR support.
• Assist in the management of the accounting workflow across all related entities, ensuring proper internal controls are in place including compliance with company policies and procedures and all other statutory requirements.
• Meet all internal and external reporting deadlines.
• Provide support for pricing and profitability analysis, commercial and municipal bids, and market development projects.
• Support management during the annual budget and interim forecasting process and assist with analytical review.
• Oversee the accounting aspects of capital expenditures, transfers, and retirements.
• Provide support and respond to information requests from CFO and COO.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant or similar role within a corporate setting
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations
• Extensive knowledge of the General Ledger process and Journal Entries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically within an accounting context
• Experience with Month End Close procedures and related tasks
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification would be advantageous.
