Robert Half Payroll Administrator in Salinas, California

Description We are seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our team in the Healthcare and Social Assistance industry located in Salinas, California. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be tasked with various responsibilities ranging from calculating payable hours to coordinating with the Human Resources department for data accuracy. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately calculate payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions.

• Prepare and issue earnings statements regularly.

• Manage direct deposits and issue paychecks.

• Maintain comprehensive and accurate employee records.

• Collaborate with the HR department to ensure correct and up-to-date employee data.

• Utilize skills in Automated Payroll and Benefits Payroll to streamline processes.

• Leverage your Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) skills to enhance payroll administration.

• Regularly monitor and manage employee data and payroll processes.

• Resolve any payroll-related inquiries and issues efficiently.

• Stay updated with the latest trends and changes in payroll administration. Requirements • Proficiency in Benefits Payroll, Automated Payroll, Certified Payroll, and Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is essential.

• Experience in the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance industries is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build effective relationships.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

• Familiarity with payroll software and systems is a plus.

• Proven track record of maintaining accurate and timely payroll records.

• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and work under pressure.

• Excellent numerical skills and data entry proficiency.

• Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
