Robert Half Accountant in Salt Lake City, Utah
Description We are looking for a dedicated Accountant to join our team in the Defense Manufacturing industry based in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role involves a variety of accounting functions and responsibilities, including problem-solving, communication with vendors, and providing complex information to the Finance Business Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate problem-solving activities, working directly with suppliers, customers and other departments to address issues.
• Handle a high volume of statements and invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
• Participate in closing activities and provide basic responses to Accountant I/II questions.
• Communicate directly with vendors, troubleshoot invoice discrepancies and escalate to higher-level Accountants or Finance Business Manager as needed.
• Participate in regular meetings and learn basic elements of meeting facilitation.
• Speak on specific topics in accounting and finance meetings as required.
• Provide advanced reporting, offering complex information as requested to Finance Business Manager and Comptroller.
• Perform intermediate to advanced reconciliation, ensuring all accounts are updated in a timely manner.
• Submit funds for invoices after receiving approval from Finance Business Manager.
• Utilize Accounting Software Systems and manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), while also conducting Auditing and managing Budget Processes.
This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role within the Defense Manufacturing industry
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Demonstrated understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Previous involvement in Auditing processes
• Familiarity with Budget Processes
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
