Description
We are inviting applications for a Data Engineer role based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our company is part of the industry, and this position presents a contract to hire employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of data models and the infrastructure needed for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain dimensional data models, ensuring their efficient and accurate function.
• Utilize your knowledge of AWS infrastructure to build and maintain secure and scalable cloud-based data solutions.
• Utilize Data Build Tools to transform data in your warehouse more effectively.
• Write and execute Python scripts to enhance data manipulation and analysis processes.
• Leverage your SQL proficiency to query databases, manipulate data, and generate insights.
• Apply your PySpark experience to process large amounts of data across distributed computing systems.
• Periodically visit the onsite office for meetings, updates, and collaborations with the team.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to address and resolve any issues or inquiries.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on the data analysis.
• Accurately process customer credit applications and maintain their records.
Requirements • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
• Proficient in SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
• Experience working with PySpark for processing and analyzing large datasets
• Knowledge of Dimensional Data Models for designing databases and data warehouses
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for database management, data storage, and cloud computing
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a knack for troubleshooting data-related issues
• Strong communication skills to present complex data insights in clear, understandable terms
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field preferred
