Description
Robert Half has an opening for a Network Engineer for a contract to hire employment opportunity in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. This critical Network Engineer role involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems to support business operations and meet customer requirements. The Network Engineer position requires collaboration with other IT teams to integrate network solutions and provide technical support to team members and customers. This Network Engineer role involves designing, building, and maintaining network infrastructures for complex projects across the United States so this position requires travel to various new builds multiple times a year. Responsibilities:
Network Design and Buildout: Design and build network infrastructures for large-scale projects such as apartment complexes, connecting 10G circuits to each unit. Build and configure network systems in-house for later deployment.
Routing and Protocol Management: Configure routing protocols (BGP and other Cisco protocols), leveraging Meraki and Cisco equipment for efficient, secure connectivity.
Field Deployment: Travel for onsite configuration, installation, and “rack and stack” of network equipment.
Network Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing maintenance and 24/7 support through an after-hours rotation. Conduct network updates and monitor systems to ensure performance and security.
Access Control and Connectivity: Manage access control solutions and connect multiple networks in compliance with client specifications.
Client and Project Engagement: Collaborate closely with clients to understand project requirements, deliver tailored network solutions, and ensure client satisfaction.

Requirements
Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer
Proficiency in working with Cisco Routers and Cisco Technologies is mandatory
Must have a solid understanding of Computer Hardware
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required
Experience with Meraki is a plus
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues efficiently
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and integrity
Must be legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship.
