Robert Half Staff Accountant in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
There's currently a contract to hire position available for an experienced Staff Accountant with Robert Half. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Your responsibilities in this role:
Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Assists the Controller in preparation of semi-monthly payroll.
Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and head start regulations.
Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Proficient with fixed asset management and depreciation.
Participate in all fiscal audits.
Other duties as assigned.
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Financial analysis experience
Foundational knowledge in bank reconciliations
bi-Monthly Payroll experience highly desired
Expertise in Prepare Balance Sheets
Proficiency in account reconciliation
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Current and relevant ERP system experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
