Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in San Antonio, Texas
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the medical research industry. This role is based in San Antonio, Texas, 78229, United States, and will involve managing payment cycle activities within the accounting department, utilizing the 2-way matching system in Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and handling invoices.
Responsibilities:
• Utilize Great Plains to code and process invoices effectively on a weekly basis
• Execute daily accounts payable tasks such as maintaining G/L accounts, managing 2-way matching, and checking cost allocations
• Review and handle vendor invoices, ensuring adherence to contract terms and policy compliance, through the 2-way matching procedure
• Verify processed work by comparing system invoices to balances and reconciling any discrepancies
• Ensure successful payment of invoices by examining associated forms and invoices for conformity to procedure requirements
• Investigate potential discrepancies and divergences, conducting research, and applying corrective actions where needed
• Maintain accurate vendor records and update financial information as needed
• Prepare various reports to support financial analysis and audit requirements
• Contribute to the enhancement of processes within the accounts payable function. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding is essential for efficient management of financial data.
• Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems to streamline financial operations.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services for payroll and HR services.
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning to improve business performance.
• Ability to perform various Accounting Functions to ensure financial accuracy.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) for managing outgoing payments.
• Understanding of Accrual Accounting to accurately represent the financial position of the company.
• Auditing skills to ensure financial data is accurate and compliant with laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of Automated Clearing House (ACH) for electronic financial transactions.
• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) for streamlined business operations.
• Ability to use Great Plains Accounting for managing financial data.
• Proficiency in Excel for data management and analysis.
