Robert Half Bookkeeper in San Carlos, California


There is an immediate employment opportunity for a Full Charge Bookkeeper/Office Manager to handle payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, clerical staff, and full cycle A/P. In the San Carlos, California area, Robert Half, has a client seeking a permanent Full Charge Bookkeeper to join their team. Apply immediately!

Key responsibilities

  • Accomplished in credit card management and reconciliation

  • Manage Accounts Receivable

  • Additional special projects if necessary

  • Index budget transfers

  • Draw up subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement

  • Direct monthly accounting close

  • File cash flow projections, as needed

  • Develop monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

  • Execute cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.

  • Summarize business license and gross receipts

  • Enter Accounts Payable

  • Manage sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments


  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Experience with back office support

  • QuickBooks experience

  • Command of Microsoft Excel

  • Well-founded grasp of bank reconciliations

  • Foundational knowledge in navigating basic office equipment and protocols

  • Proven knowledge of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

  • Administrative Office experience

  • Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • Vow to meet business deadlines

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred, but degree not required

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • High attention to detail

  • Proven analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills

    • Noteworthy accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

    • 3+ years of related experience and experience with Construction industry is a huge plus!
