Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in San Diego, California
Description
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable transactions. You will be responsible for reviewing and processing invoices, reconciling statements, and maintaining positive relationships with our vendors. Responsibilities:
Process a high volume of accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
Enter and code invoices into the ERP system ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
Prepare and perform weekly check runs and ACH payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain good relationships with vendors.
Assist with month-end closing activities including account reconciliations.
Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the accounts payable function.
Assist with audits and provide documentation as required.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Proven experience (2+ years) as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and processing.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
