Position Summary
The Case Specialist will serve as a trusted advocate and guide for Farsi, Dari, and Pashto-speaking clients. This role involves conducting thorough needs assessments, linking clients to essential services, and providing ongoing support to help them navigate complex systems and achieve personal and family goals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate cultural humility, strong organizational skills, and a deep-rooted passion for community advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
Client Support & Advocacy:
Perform client intakes, assess needs, and develop individualized service plans.
Deliver personalized case management and sustained support to Farsi, Dari, and Pashto-speaking clients.
Advocate on behalf of clients to secure access to healthcare, housing, legal aid, employment, and educational opportunities.
Resource Navigation:
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with local organizations, government agencies, and service providers.
Connect clients to appropriate resources and assist with navigating application and enrollment processes.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain precise and up-to-date client records, service plans, and progress notes.
Prepare comprehensive reports for internal oversight and external reporting requirements.
Cultural Sensitivity:
Utilize fluency in Farsi, Dari, and Pashto to provide clear, empathetic communication.
Educate clients about available resources and their rights in a culturally responsive manner.
Community Outreach & Education:
Participate in outreach initiatives to inform the community about available services and programs.
Facilitate workshops and educational sessions tailored to Farsi, Dari, and Pashto-speaking populations.
Requirements
Qualifications
Language Skills:
Fluency in Farsi, Dari, and Pashto (spoken and written) is required.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field (preferred).
2+ years of experience in case management, client advocacy, or a related field, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to navigate sensitive cultural contexts with empathy and respect.
