This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the San Diego, California region. You might be a good fit for this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. How you will make an impact
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Reviews deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month Requirements
Construction Accounting experience
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
