Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Controller in San Diego, California. As an integral part of our senior management team, you will be responsible for managing all financial and business matters, ensuring timely reporting and transparent profitability. This role requires strategic guidance on increasing and maintaining profitability, managing the accounting team, and creating and implementing policies and procedures to maximize efficiency throughout our operations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate monthly and annual company financial statements with the assistance of the accounting team.

• Review financial statements with the executive team and provide strategic guidance on profitability.

• Maintain the Work in Progress (WIP) report.

• Supervise accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.

• Manage company accounting policies and work with IT manager to optimize software and infrastructure to support office and field operations.

• Collaborate with department directors to prepare annual budgets.

• Maintain fixed asset reporting module in Sage 300.

• Act as the main point of contact for all active Worker’s Compensation claims and General Liability claims filed with insurance carriers.

• Lead annual insurance renewals, working with brokers to negotiate the best policy.

• Encourage the highest level of safety culture throughout the organization as a key member of the company safety team.

• Ensure correct coverage for unique projects requiring special endorsements, lines of coverage, etc. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of Auditing procedures

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Proficient in Sage 300 software

• Ability to perform Month End Close operations

• Experience with WIP - Work In Progress management

• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

• Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage

• Proven experience in a similar role as a Controller

• Strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation.
