Description
AmLaw 200 law firm in downtown San Diego seeks a transactional legal secretary to join their corporate law team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of corporate law experience. This transactional legal secretary should approach problems from a case management perspective – what might the client need and what would the attorney need to support that? This firm does not want someone who just likes to check things off a list, but rather, someone who can think strategically on how to help the client. Overtime in the role is limited, and work-life balance is appreciated!
Responsibilities of Role:
o Putting board packets together
o Helping get presentations ready
o Transcribing dictation
o Editing and redlining legal documents, on paper and electronically. Ted redlines by hand, but his handwriting is good!
o Researching property profiles, searching online title database, retrieving title documents, plus assisting with closing binders (rare but important).
o Managing, planning, calendaring of all conference calls and meetings, including client interface.
· Software: Dictation in Big Hand. Document management in iManage. Entering time inTapp. Expense reports in Chrome River.

He is old school, likes in-person work and in-person interaction; that’s true of his staff and his clients, too. He meets with tribes regularly. He likes to have the face-to-face connection. He is great at providing context. He has been with the firm for 40 years.
Compensation:
· Salary: Up to $100K for someone who checks all the boxes, a lifelong transactional legal secretary. Otherwise, $75-90K
· Bonus: Discretionary year-end
· Benefits: Generous healthcare, 401K, PTO, and paid parking in the building

Pay is contingent upon fluencies with these things, plus caliber of firms worked at and stability on the resume.
