Description
Our client is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering compassionate and exceptional patient care. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and personable Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare providers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our front desk by handling a variety of administrative tasks and providing exceptional customer service to all who enter our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
Schedule appointments and coordinate patient referrals.
Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
Verify patient insurance information and collect co-payments.
Maintain patient records and update information as necessary.
Ensure waiting areas and reception area are tidy and presentable.
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and emailing.
Collaborate effectively with medical staff and other departments.
Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a medical setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in computer systems and electronic health records (EHR) software.
Ability to remain calm and composed in fast-paced environments.
Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
