Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to ensure the accuracy of our financial operations and to assist us in maintaining financial sustainability. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for handling multiple aspects of financial transactions, making bank deposits, managing expenses, auditing, and calculating tax payments and returns. The candidate should have excellent numerical skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles to accurately manage our financial information.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for accuracy and reliability.
Manage full-cycle accounting duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
Coordinate and prepare required files for audits.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant non-profit accounting principles.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and the execution of financial strategies.
Ensure financial transactions are recorded and reported timely & accurately.
Communicate financial information internally and externally as necessary.
Requirements
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
3+ years of accounting experience, with a preference for experience in the non-profit sector.
Strong understanding of non-profit GAAP and fund accounting principles.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
An acute attention to detail and a strong sense of ethics.
