Description
As a Payroll Clerk, you will play a crucial role in our finance and HR department by assisting with the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. You will support payroll operations, ensure compliance with payroll regulations, and maintain precise records. Responsibilities:
Assist in processing bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees accurately and on time.
Calculate wages, deductions, and overtime as per company policies and regulations.
Enter payroll data into the system and verify accuracy of employee information.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and resolve issues promptly.
Assist with payroll reporting and maintain payroll records.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Collaborate with HR and finance teams on payroll-related projects and initiatives.
Support audits and provide documentation as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Proven experience (1-2 years) as a Payroll Clerk, Payroll Assistant, or similar role.
Basic understanding of payroll principles, procedures, and regulations.
Experience with payroll software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in Accounting or related field preferred.
