Robert Half Payroll Specialist in San Diego, California

Description

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a critical role in our HR and finance department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our dedicated team of HVAC technicians and staff. You will manage all aspects of payroll administration, including calculations, deductions, compliance with labor laws, and maintaining payroll records. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our team's success and support our employees' satisfaction with timely and accurate compensation.

Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for HVAC technicians and staff accurately and on time.

  • Calculate wages, deductions, and overtime as per company policies and regulations.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

  • Manage employee benefits deductions and contributions.

  • Process new hires, terminations, and changes to employee payroll information.

  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

  • Generate payroll reports for management and accounting purposes.

  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and implement best practices.

  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams on payroll-related projects and initiatives.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (2+ years) as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, preferably in the HVAC or construction industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of payroll procedures, regulations, and compliance.

  • Proficiency in payroll software

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
