Robert Half Payroll Specialist in San Diego, California

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in San Diego, California. In this role, you will be responsible for the management and processing of payroll for construction projects, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage laws, federal and state regulations, and project-specific requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and process payroll for construction projects, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage laws and other labor regulations.

• Prepare, submit, and maintain certified payroll reports (CPRs) for all applicable projects, in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.

• Ensure that payroll records meet all applicable wage determinations, including prevailing wage rates, fringe benefits, and overtime rules.

• Collect, review, and verify employee timesheets, including ensuring proper job classification, hours worked, and wage rates.

• Maintain organized and accurate payroll records for audits and inspections by regulatory agencies or project owners.

• Ensure fringe benefits are calculated and distributed correctly according to prevailing wage laws, including health, pension, and vacation contributions.

• Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, wage rates, and certified payroll requirements.

• Assist with processing lien waivers and handling related compliance documentation.

• Ensure that all labor compliance documentation is completed, filed, and submitted on time for construction projects.

• Assist with payroll tax filings and provide payroll data for W-2 and 1099 reporting as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now

• Knowledge of Ceridian software

• Ability to utilize Crystal Reports

• Understanding of 401k - RRSP Administration processes

• Experience with About Time software

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Skills in Auditing

• Ability to manage Benefit Functions
