Robert Half Senior Accountant in San Diego, California

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant in San Diego, California. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team, responsible for analyzing accounting records, producing financial statements, and maintaining general ledger and sub-ledgers. This role involves managing financial responsibilities for several functional areas within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze accounting records to assess accuracy and conformance to reporting and procedural standards

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Extract general ledger information for analysis and reporting

• Verify, adjust, and reconcile postings to accounts and sub-ledgers

• Process accounts payable and maintain accurate vendor files

• Assist with preparing budgets and external and internal audits

• Coordinate corporate tax planning and compliance issues

• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements

• Ensure all financial transactions within the company are accounted for and follow legal standards

• Provide financial advice and consultation to Executive Leadership and other staff as needed

• Assist with inventory counts, including analyzing department needs and providing monthly reports to the accounting and other departments

• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with vendors to obtain the best price and service

• QuickBooks Requirements • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally as a Senior Accountant

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks software

• Advanced skills in creating and maintaining journal entries

• Demonstrated ability in performing account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations

• Experience with General Ledger management

• Ability to carry out month-end close procedures effectively

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines

• Detail-oriented and analytical mindset

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Professional certification such as CPA is desired but not required

• Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information.
