Robert Half Senior Accountant in San Diego, California
Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in San Diego, California. The primary function of this role is to manage and reconcile intercompany and interdivisional transactions, prepare financial statements, and perform technical accounting research. This role is central to ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP and compliance with internal controls within our industry.
Responsibilities:
• Manage intercompany and interdivisional transactions and balances
• Prepare necessary elimination entries for consolidation for multiple entities
• Conduct regular account reconciliation for assigned accounts
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, including drafting footnotes and disclosures
• Perform technical accounting research and interpret accounting guidance for complex transactions
• Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards and reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist in the implementation of control enhancements
• Support external service providers, such as auditors and valuation specialists, by providing requested documentation
• Conduct ad hoc reporting to external parties
• Utilize technical accounting skills including CPA, Public Accounting, SEC Reporting, and Mergers & Acquisitions (M& A) knowledge. Requirements • Must possess a strong understanding of Technical Accounting principles
• CPA certification is required
• Experience in Public Accounting is essential
• Proficiency in SEC Reporting is necessary
• Demonstrated experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (M& A) is crucial
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
