Robert Half Senior Accountant in San Diego, California
Description Within an innovative Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance company, there's currently a permanent position open for an experienced Senior Accountant in the San Diego, California area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be required to perform financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This position offers you great long-term potential and a strong compensation and benefits package. We are seeking an individual with strong analytical skills that excels working in a challenging and fast-paced work environment while contributing to the continued success of the firm. This Senior Accountant role is based in San Diego, California with a company in the Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance field.
Major responsibilities
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP Requirements - Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
Must have excellent time management skills
GAAP Accounting experience preferred
Strong familiarity with Oracle PeopleSoft
Fixed Asset Accounting experience
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
ERP system experience
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
