Job Summary:
Our client, a well-established organization, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance team on a contract basis. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a senior-level accountant to contribute to the organization’s financial operations, manage complex accounting functions, and assist with strategic financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
Perform in-depth financial analysis, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Manage the consolidation of financial data and ensure alignment with internal and external reporting standards.
Month-End and Year-End Close:
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Oversee the preparation of supporting schedules for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and internal controls.
Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting procedures.
Assist with external and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight:
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring proper coding and timely payment.
Review invoices, contracts, and vendor payments to ensure compliance with company policies and project budgets.
Assist in managing cash flow and monitoring aging reports.
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
Assist in tax reporting, including the preparation of tax returns and coordination with tax advisors.
Ensure compliance with sales tax, payroll tax, and other applicable taxes.
Special Projects & Process Improvement:
Lead and contribute to special accounting projects, such as system upgrades or process optimizations.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to support business goals.
Requirements
Qualifications:
5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior-level or supervisory role.
Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
Experience with month-end and year-end close, financial consolidation, and audit processes.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
