Job Summary:

Our client, a well-established organization, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance team on a contract basis. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a senior-level accountant to contribute to the organization’s financial operations, manage complex accounting functions, and assist with strategic financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

  • Perform in-depth financial analysis, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Manage the consolidation of financial data and ensure alignment with internal and external reporting standards.

Month-End and Year-End Close:

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

  • Oversee the preparation of supporting schedules for balance sheet and income statement accounts.

  • Ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and internal controls.

  • Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting procedures.

  • Assist with external and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.

Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight:

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring proper coding and timely payment.

  • Review invoices, contracts, and vendor payments to ensure compliance with company policies and project budgets.

  • Assist in managing cash flow and monitoring aging reports.

Tax Compliance & Reporting:

  • Assist in tax reporting, including the preparation of tax returns and coordination with tax advisors.

  • Ensure compliance with sales tax, payroll tax, and other applicable taxes.

Special Projects & Process Improvement:

  • Lead and contribute to special accounting projects, such as system upgrades or process optimizations.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to support business goals.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior-level or supervisory role.

  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

  • Experience with month-end and year-end close, financial consolidation, and audit processes.

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
