Robert Half Accounting Manager - Growing VC Fund in San Francisco, California

Our client is an early stage VC Fund based in San Francisco. They have been known to focus on a small number of investments in disruptive tech companies. Their limited partners include a wide variety of ultra-high net worth families, venture capitalists, and fellow Silicon Valley executives. This fund is looking to hire an Accounting Manager to work with closely with their COO.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the quarterly financial close process with Fund Administrator

  • Prepare capital call and capital distribution projections for approval.

  • Participate in the deal closing process

  • Assist in the treasury function for fund entities

  • Coordinate the annual audited financial statement and provide support to auditors

  • Coordinate the tax reporting, including K-1 preparation and review and provide support to Deloitte

  • Monitor fund expense budgets, allocations and accruals

  • Respond to investor requests

  • Prepare quarterly reviews and valuations of portfolio companies

  • Ensure accuracy of reports and deliverables for internal and external use

  • Manage fund launches and lead co-invest entity creation

  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting, finance, and operational data projects

    Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience mix of Big 4 public and industry or related experience working with Venture Capital or Private Equity firms.

  • Strong Attention to deal.

  • Ability to multitask and work independently.

  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable speaking with investors, investment executive.

  • Team Player, flexible and willing to take on unfamiliar tasks to meet firm objectives and take ownership of all areas of responsibility.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other computer applications.

  • Knowledge of Alta Return is a PLUS.

  • Knowledge of waterfalls.

  • CPA license (inactive is ok).

  • Fund tax experience is a PLUS.
