Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in San Francisco, California

Description

  • Generate and send out invoices to customers accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Process incoming payments, including checks, credit card payments, and electronic transfers.

  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

  • Follow up on outstanding balances and collections, contacting customers to resolve payment discrepancies or overdue payments.

  • Work closely with sales and customer service teams to address billing inquiries and resolve customer issues promptly.

  • Maintain accurate records of customer transactions and interactions in the accounting system.

  • Prepare and analyze accounts receivable aging reports to track delinquent accounts and take appropriate actions.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.

  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve processes, systems, and controls related to accounts receivable.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in accounts receivable management.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience (typically 2-3 years) in accounts receivable, billing, or related roles.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Workday

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and automated billing platforms is a plus.
