Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in San Francisco, California
Description
Generate and send out invoices to customers accurately and in a timely manner.
Process incoming payments, including checks, credit card payments, and electronic transfers.
Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Follow up on outstanding balances and collections, contacting customers to resolve payment discrepancies or overdue payments.
Work closely with sales and customer service teams to address billing inquiries and resolve customer issues promptly.
Maintain accurate records of customer transactions and interactions in the accounting system.
Prepare and analyze accounts receivable aging reports to track delinquent accounts and take appropriate actions.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
Collaborate with the finance team to improve processes, systems, and controls related to accounts receivable.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in accounts receivable management.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
Proven experience (typically 2-3 years) in accounts receivable, billing, or related roles.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Workday
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently as well as part of a team.
Familiarity with ERP systems and automated billing platforms is a plus.
