Robert Half is searching for an ambitious Assistant Controller to join a reputable Financial Services company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over a 4 person accounting direct report team. As the Assistant Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide and mentor departmental staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis

  • Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

  • Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

    Requirements

  • 5+ years of financial institution experience (Manager level) public and/or private

  • Financial Services experience (bank or credit union)

  • CPA preferred

  • Leadership – Staff development experience and mentorship ability. Ability to think outside the box

  • CECL reporting/implementation a plus
