Description A current opening through Robert Half, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller to join the team at a prominent services company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the San Francisco, California region.

What you get to do every day

  • Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

  • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis

  • Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team

  • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

  • Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties

  • Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly Requirements

  • Public accounting/CPA ideal

  • 5-7 years managerial experience

  • Real Estate industry preferred

  • Start up experience, going through hypergrowth mode

  • Experience with NetSuite, Expensify ideal
