Robert Half Director of Finance in San Francisco, California

Description

We are searching for a skilled Director of Finance to join our team in San Francisco, California. The individual will manage a team, including a Sr. Accountant and Accounting/Admin Associate, while also being involved in the recruitment of an additional admin level team member. This role focuses on the non-profit industry, and it's crucial to have an understanding of grant funding – state, federal, and foundational grants. The role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of the current team, including a Sr. Accountant and Accounting/Admin Associate

• Participate in the recruitment of an additional admin-level team member

• Utilize non-profit industry knowledge, particularly in understanding and managing grant funding from state, federal, and foundational grants

• Take charge of reviewing payroll and producing Board Reports and Cash Flow Forecasting

• Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook

• Exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask

• Utilize various software's including QuickBooks Online, Monday.com, Raiser’s Edge Fundraising CRM, and Insperity

• Manage operating entities in California & Oregon, handling multistate payroll accordingly

• Leverage skills in Accounting Software Systems, CRM, Accounting Functions, Auditing, Budget Processes, Capital Management, Cash Flow Analysis, and Foundation Grants.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role as a VP/Director of Finance

• Proven experience in Accounting Functions, Auditing, Budget Processes, Capital Management

• Skilled in Cash Flow Analysis, Foundation Grants, Cash Flow Forecasts

• Knowledge of relevant legal regulations and standards in finance

• Excellent leadership, strategic planning and business development skills

• Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

• Professional certification like CPA or CFA will be considered a plus

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field; Master’s degree preferred

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel.
