Description

We are inviting applications for the role of an EHS Specialist based in San Francisco, California. In this role, you will be tasked with upholding and promoting health and safety standards within the workplace, working closely with various teams to ensure compliance with local, state, and company guidelines. This role offers an opportunity for a long-term contract employment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with various teams across the region to support and execute the vision and strategy of our health and safety programs worldwide.

• Take charge of data entry of metrics and processes in the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) management system to monitor and enhance compliance and best practices.

• Develop, review, and update various EHS programs, policies, and training materials in alignment with company policy and regulatory guidelines.

• Facilitate site-specific Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Training requirements.

• Drive and participate in EHS risk assessments and perform periodic facility audits to identify potential EHS hazards/opportunities.

• Collaborate with teams in incident investigations to identify root causes and facilitate the implementation of corrective actions.

• Conduct routine data / trend analysis, research, and presentations related to EHS performance.

• Manage and support compliance of COVID-19 workplace protection measures & response.

• Oversee the contractor safety program deployment and develop Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs) to determine site-specific safety requirements.

• Support the efforts of local safety committees and participate in special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficiency in data entry, with an attention to accuracy and detail

• Strong background in training and developing staff on EHS policies and procedures

• Experience in operations management, particularly within an EHS context

• Ability to develop, implement and ensure compliance with EHS policies

• Excellent research skills, with the ability to review and interpret regulatory and technical documents

• Experience in conducting presentations to communicate EHS information to various stakeholders

• Knowledge of workstation support, including ergonomic assessments and improvements

• Proven track record in auditing EHS procedures and practices

• Ability to monitor progress and implementation of EHS initiatives

• Degree in Engineering or a related field

• Willingness to travel as required for site inspections and meetings

• Experience in metric reporting related to EHS performance

• Ability to participate in strategic planning for EHS initiatives

• Proven ability to execute EHS plans and initiatives effectively

• Familiarity with best practices in EHS and ability to apply these in the workplace

• Understanding of company policy development and enforcement

• Experience leading special projects related to EHS improvements

• Proficiency in the use of EHS management systems

• Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies

• Experience in committee meetings, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
