Robert Half Finance and Contracts Manager in San Francisco, California
Description We are providing an opportunity for a Finance and Contracts Manager to join our team in San Francisco, California. This role is crucial within our non-profit organization, where you will be responsible for handling both finance and accounting duties, managing contracts with federal and foundation grants, and maintaining effective communication with the Board. This is a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance and accurate reporting for federal and foundation grants
• Manage invoicing and fund accounting, distinguishing between restricted and non-restricted funds
• Prepare internal and external reports to maintain transparency and facilitate decision-making
• Monitor and report on budget versus actual performance to identify variances and implement corrective measures
• Maintain cash position and conduct financial forecasting to support strategic planning
• Communicate financial information to the Board and prepare presentations as needed
• Carry out ad hoc reporting to address specific issues or queries
• Execute accounting functions and manage the accounting cycle using NetSuite
• Utilize Excel formulas for efficient and accurate data processing and analysis
• Oversee contract compliance to ensure all terms and conditions are met. Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's or Honours Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proficiency in the accounting cycle, with an emphasis on understanding and applying financial principles.
• Demonstrated experience in managing accounting functions, including ledger preparation, financial reporting, and information analysis.
• Expertise in budget forecasting, with a proven track record in strategic planning and financial analysis.
• Knowledge of contract compliance, with an ability to ensure all financial operations adhere to contractual obligations.
• Proficient in using Excel formulas for complex calculations, data analysis, and financial modeling.
• Experience in managing federal funds, with an understanding of the rules and regulations surrounding their use.
• Familiarity with fund accounting in a non-profit setting, with an ability to accurately track and report on restricted and unrestricted funds.
• Proficiency in using NetSuite or similar financial management software, with an ability to utilize its features for efficient financial management.
