Position: Global Mobility/Immigration Specialist (Contract)

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid, 2 days on-site) Mon/Thu.

Duration: Jul 2024 - Feb 2025

Robert Half Consulting Services is seeking for an Interim Global Mobility/Immigration Specialist professional for a client located in San Francisco. The specialist will serve as an expert in managing assessments and case initiations, and providing support for employees and candidates on immigration and relocation matters. This role requires flexibility to accommodate global employees' needs and a strong understanding of various immigration processes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and complete assessments and case initiations for immigration and relocation.

• Act as the primary contact for employees, candidates, stakeholders, and managers regarding immigration and relocation inquiries, updates, and concerns.

• Offer counseling and advocacy for employees in relation to immigration and relocation matters.

• Administer and manage the J-1 program for internships, collaborating closely with immigration counsel.

• Ensure compliance with Legal, Tax, Payroll, and People Ops teams, managing complex issues and improving processes.

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of H-1B lottery, PERM, and other immigration processes.

• Use systems such as Notion, Rippling, and Greenhouse for various tasks.

• Maintain a strong knowledge of Compliance, Employment-Based Immigration, Immigration Law, Relocations, J-1, H-1B, and Global Compliance.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of proven expertise in Compliance and Global Compliance and relocations and handling J-1 and H-1B visas

• Strong knowledge of Employment-Based Immigration and Immigration Law

• Experience with relocations and handling J-1 and H-1B visas

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Excellent problem-solving abilities

• Proficiency in using HR software and computer applications

• Ability to work in a team and to lead when necessary

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Strong decision-making skills and ability to exercise good judgement.
