Are you a punctual and detail-oriented individual with experience in maintaining accurate and organized medical records? If so, we are looking to hire a full-time Medical Records Clerk to join our dynamic team in San Francisco.

Job Description:

The Medical Records Clerk will provide superior patient care by collecting, filing, retrieving, and updating patient information, in accordance with legal requirements and healthcare facility policies. This role demands a keen eye for detail, understanding of the importance of patient confidentiality, and the ability to process medical records in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and compile patient data from a variety of sources including physicians, nurses, and labs.

  • File, organize, and maintain medical records accurately ensuring proper labeling and indexing.

  • Retrieve medical records for authorized personnel in a timely manner upon request.

  • Update existing records with the latest information including test results, diagnoses, and treatments.

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all medical records.

  • Adhere to healthcare regulations (HIPAA) and all facility protocols concerning medical records.

  • Perform data entry, scanning, and basic coding tasks related to patients' medical records.

  • Clearly answer queries from healthcare providers, patients, and third parties regarding medical records.

  • Manage inventory and order supplies for the medical records department.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Medical Records Clerk or equivalent position.

  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, particularly HIPAA, is a must.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Great written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and medical records software.
