Robert Half Payroll Manager in San Francisco, California
Description
We are seeking an interim time and attendance manager to assist our client in San Francisco. This fully remote role involves managing all aspects of the time collection system, coordinating with internal teams to resolve payroll-timekeeping issues, and supervising the tasks and performance of the analysts. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities include:
• Overseeing the daily operations of the time collection system
• Reviewing and approving manual check requests, retro calculations, termination, and workers compensation calculations
• Running and reviewing edit, exception and control reports
• Coordinating with internal Payroll, Human Resources, and Labor Relations teams to resolve any payroll-timekeeping issues
• Acting as the primary reference source for all timekeeping inquiries
• Supervising the activities of analysts and ensuring the quality and quantity of their work
• Assigning tasks, determining priorities, and monitoring progress of analysts
• Performing root cause analysis of payment errors and recommending corrective action and changes in procedures and/or controls to prevent future occurrences
• Acting as the contact point for any employee or departmental issues that cannot be resolved satisfactorily by the analyst
Requirements
• Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a time and attendance management role
• Proficiency in handling time and attendance systems
• Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale projects
• Excellent leadership skills to manage and motivate the payroll team
• Strong analytical skills to interpret payroll data
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with other departments and third parties
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection protocols
• Must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
