Job Title: Senior Property Accounting Manager - Assistant Property Controller (Title Flexible)

Location: San Francisco (Hybrid - 3 Days in Office with Flexibility)

Salary: $150-180k (DOE) + Bonus

Our dynamic, value-driven real estate investment firm is seeking a Senior Property Accounting Manager. We are an innovative company with a solid foundation in hands-on management, technology, and ESG applications. With a diverse team of professionals, we have established a $2 billion portfolio that includes varied properties across the San Francisco Bay Area and Pacific Northwest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with Operations and Property Management to create efficient property-level accounting processes and procedures.

  • Managing month-end/year-end closing activities, reconciling fixed assets for assigned properties, and ensuring accounting transactions are recorded in line with GAAP.

  • Collaborating with Asset Management on regular loan draws for Capex projects and providing answers for CAM and financial audits.

  • Reviewing work products for errors and offering reasonable solutions for all projects.

    Requirements

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics.

  • Minimum of 5 years of real estate accounting experience; ideally 7-9 years.

  • At least 3 years of experience managing outsourced property accountants.

  • Proficient in Yardi and Excel, with experience in Asana/Project Management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational skills, an impeccable attention to detail, topped with an outstanding work ethic.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency.
