Job Posting: Senior Accountant
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: San Francisco; 5 days onsite
Salary: $85-115k + Bonus
A privately held real estate development and investment management company headquartered in San Francisco, California. In operation since 2008, the firm is the newest venture of its ownership team that has been successfully operating in the real estate business for over 30 years. They invest and manage residential, retail and mixed-use properties with a primary focus on multifamily properties across the United States.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate workflow between property management and accounting.
Manage electronic filing of property-related documents.
Assist with other tasks as needed.
Oversee accounts payable, receivable, collections, and financial analysis.
Post non-recurring tenant charges as requested.
Resolve financial statement issues proactively.
Prepare journal entries with documentation.
Participate in month-end close activities.
Compile and review monthly financial reports.
Monitor cash flow forecasts across accounts and projects.
Review outstanding accounts receivable for accuracy.
Assist with tax return preparation and compliance.
Ensure adherence to fixed asset capitalization policies.
Follow internal accounting policies and procedures.
Collaborate with Property Management and the Controller on annual budgets.
Prepare forecasts and budgeted line items for accounting.
Requirements
Requirements:
7+ years GL accounting experience; no real estate experience necessary
Huge plus: real estate experience and AppFolio, Yardi, and QuickBooks experience
Good communication skills as this person will be speaking with property managers and others outside of accounting team
