Robert Half Sr. Financial Analyst in San Francisco, California

Description A growing company is seeking an experienced, long-term contract / temporary Senior Financial Analyst to join the efforts of their dynamic team. The Senior Financial Analyst consultant is in charge of project spending, planning, forecasting, and annual budgeting, serving as the primary point of contact for all financial issues. You will need to provide decision-making support for future company investments, as well as perform analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments in support of public reporting requirements. San Francisco, California will be the home base of this Senior Financial Analyst.


  • Help create sustainable business, operational, and financial processes to be understood by all necessary teams

  • Optimize business performance by identifying and executing financial analysis

  • Track financial results with greater accuracy and discretion by working with Operating and Accounting to drive improved management reporting

  • Build positive relationships with key business partners and Finance/Accounting leadership

  • Assist in other ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests

  • Coordinate with Functional leads to draft management reporting, accounting and compliance advisement, and guarantee alignment of operational initiatives

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting - analyzing financial results, distilling/synthesizing key trends, assessing current and future business risk, and communicating critical updates to senior leadership

  • Evaluate financial results, summarize key issues, and articulate integral messages to senior management in order to drive existing management reporting Requirements - Prior experience with process reengineering and optimization

  • Ability to think critically and interact with management

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • A thorough understanding of office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended

  • Highly skilled with Microsoft PowerPoint

  • 5+ years experience in operations finance required

  • Expert Microsoft Excel skills required

  • Finance or Business BA/BS degree or one in a related field required

  • OPEX experience desired

  • Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) experience required

  • Deep understanding of Profit Loss

  • Foundational knowledge in Complex Financial Models

  • Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented
