Robert Half Staff Accountant in San Francisco, California
Description Robert Half has partnered up with a dynamic, innovative Non-Profit firm to fill a Staff Accountant position on their team. This is career-building opportunity is located in the San Francisco, California region and offered on a short-term contract / temporary basis. The Staff Accountant plays a major role in the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position will require a time commitment, since it produces Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, your responsibilities include communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, playing an active role in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes.
Your responsibilities in this role
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives Requirements - Ability to meet deadlines
Experience with ERP systems
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Comprehensive knowledge of Blackbaud
Deep understanding of Monthly Account Reconciliation
Month-end Close Activities experience
Month-end Journal Entries experience preferred
Excellent attention to detail
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
