Robert Half Accountant - Offie Administrator in San Jose, California


We are on the look out for a talented Full Charge Bookkeeper for our client. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will handle bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, full cycle A/P, and payroll. At times, the Full Charge Bookkeeper might also be asked to oversee the clerical staff. Self-driven and organized accounting professionals might be interested in this Bookkeeper role if they thrive under tight deadlines with minimal supervision. This employment opportunity is based in the San Jose, California area.

What you get to do every single day

  • Oversee Accounts Receivable

  • Produce cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.

  • Log budget transfers

  • Form monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

  • Enter Accounts Payable

  • Organize sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments

  • Assemble cash flow projections, as needed

  • Govern monthly accounting close

  • Recap business license and gross receipts

  • Additional special projects if necessary

  • Knowledgeable in credit card management and reconciliation

  • Organize subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement

    Requirements - Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

    • 5+ years of related experience- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred

  • Proven analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills

  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Bank reconciliations experience

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred

  • Credit Card Reconciliation experience required

  • Full charge bookkeeping experience

  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

    • Notable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
