In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations
Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Requirements - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Month end closings experience desired
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
