Description We are seeking an Immigration Attorney to join our team based in San Jose, California. In this key role, you will be primarily responsible for providing legal counseling, promoting self-sufficiency, and improving the quality of life for all. Your duties will extend to community education and organizing, where you will be empowering individuals with limited English proficiency and unfamiliarity with the United States social and legal systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and representation to low-income individuals on immigration matters.

• Prepare and draft legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Conduct educational presentations and create informative pamphlets to increase community awareness of legal rights and responsibilities.

• Take legal action when necessary to uphold justice and protect our clients' rights.

• Collaborate with other legal professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.

• Handle asylum cases and visa petitions, providing thorough guidance and support throughout the process.

• Promote self-reliance and a better quality of life for all through community organizing initiatives.

• Keep up-to-date with changes in immigration law and 'must be eligible to work in the U.S.' issues.

• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all client interactions and legal proceedings.

• Work towards preventing legal crises by increasing awareness of the legal system among recent immigrants and refugees. Requirements • Hold a valid license to practice law

• Proven experience as an Immigration Attorney

• Proficient in handling Visa Petitions

• Expertise in Asylum cases

• Ability to prepare and review various legal documents

• Experience in drafting legal documents

• Knowledge and understanding of legal action processes

• Ability to provide sound legal advice

• Ability to collaborate with other legal professionals

• Strong skills in providing legal representation to clients
