Government entity has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant! This Legal Assistant will support the legal team, specifically litigation attorneys through all phases of the litigation lifecycle. As a Legal Assistant with this organization, you'll create litigation document shells, prepare court filings, e-filing, and calendar court dates. This is a hybrid position that requires full-time on-site work during training and will then transition to 3x per week on-site and 2x per week remote. The ideal candidate will have 2-5+ years of civil litigation experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with various State court cases, including personal injury, civil rights, and business litigation.

• Contribute to the creation and formatting of legal documents.

• Handle e-filing of court documents and manage legal calendaring.

• Utilize ProLaw for calendaring and Adobe Acrobat for document management.

• Collaborate with team members to manage overflow work.

• Understand and process motions and answers in civil litigation cases.

• Proofread legal documents for accuracy and compliance.

• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the legal field

• Must have experience with civil litigation

• Familiarity with ProLaw for calendaring is a plus

• Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Demonstrated professionalism and confidentiality

• Familiarity with legal terminology and principles
