Description We are offering a role in the healthcare industry for a Collections Specialist based in Oakland, California. This role plays a crucial part in our finance team, focusing on reviewing payer contracts claims and performing third-party collection activities for hospital services.

Responsibilities: • Review payer contracts claim and perform third-party collection activities for hospital services. • Utilize knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes in the process of handling insurance claims. • Apply understanding of payer contract language to reimbursements. • Maintain good written and verbal communication skills in interactions with various individuals from diverse socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. • Leverage intermediate computer skills, including thorough understanding of the EHR system, Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel. • Process, review and monitor accounts receivable and invoice payment processing. • Ensure compliance with current office administrative practices and procedures. • Act in an appropriate and detail oriented manner as defined by the company’s Standards of Behavior Policy and Procedures and Scope of Services. • Display intermediate knowledge of insurance claims, insurance terminology, and claim administration. • Exhibit proficiency in English Language for effective communication both written and verbal.

• Able to perform office functions and manage documentation efficiently

• Familiarity with standard procedures and policies related to collections

• Understanding of compliance requirements in collections

• Experience with invoice and payment processing

• Knowledge of accounts receivable (AR) and contract terms

• Background in insurance and finance is advantageous

• Familiarity with medical coverage and benefit functions

• Experience in billing, check processing, and collection processes

• Comfortable using websites and online tools for work

• Able to conduct quarterly reviews and claim administration

• Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken

• Knowledge of 'About Time' software would be beneficial.
