Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in San Marcos, California

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Real Estate & Property industry. The role will be based in San Marcos, California, and will entail managing various financial tasks, including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner using Yardi

• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers

• Maintain vendor files, ensuring all documentation is complete and up to date, and handle vendor inquiries and disputes

• Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies

• Assist with month-end closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries

• Provide support during audits by preparing documentation and answering auditor inquiries

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounts payable function

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments

• Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently. Requirements • Possess proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations.

• Have experience in check processing.

• Showcase strong data entry skills.

• Be familiar with the Yardi property management software.

• Have the ability to efficiently enter invoices.

• Hold a solid understanding of general accounting principles.

• Display strong organizational skills.

• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Show proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Have the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.

• Show a keen eye for detail and high levels of accuracy.

• Possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is preferred.

• Have previous experience in a real estate or property management environment.

• Be willing to continually update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

• Be flexible and adaptable to changes in workload and business needs.
