Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in San Marcos, California

Description We are in search of a meticulous Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in San Marcos, California. This role revolves around managing customer accounts to ensure high satisfaction and loyalty, from generating invoices to collecting payments. The objective is to maintain the company's financial health by minimizing bad debt and maximizing cash flow.

Responsibilities:

• Generate and dispatch invoices to customers in a timely manner while ensuring their accuracy and completeness

• Record invoices in the accounting system meticulously

• Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and initiate collection activities, including sending reminder emails, making phone calls, and negotiating payment plans

• Escalate unresolved issues to the relevant department

• Address and resolve customer inquiries and issues related to billing and payments, maintaining positive relationships with customers to foster goodwill and prompt payment

• Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted

• Conduct monthly closing activities for accounts receivable, including journal entries and account reconciliations

• Prepare regular reports on the status of accounts receivable, analyze AR aging reports, and recommend action plans to management

• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

• Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all accounts receivable activities

• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Receivable role or similar.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.

• Experience in Billing, Cash Applications, and Cash Collections.

• Familiarity with Commercial Collections.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in work.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of standard accounting principles and procedures.
