Description

Our client seeks an Estate Attorney to join their growing team in San Mateo, California. The ideal candidate will have 0 - 5 years of experience in handling a comprehensive array of estate planning matters (entry level is ok!). The client seeks an Estate Attorney who has an understanding of legal procedures, with an emphasis on estate planning, wills, trusts, conservatorship, and probate. This is a fully onsite position and requires daily in-person attendance in the client's San Mateo, California office.

Essential Functions:

  • Handle all aspects of estate matters, including estate planning, probate, trusts, wills, and conservatorship.

  • Work with clients to design and implement estate plans ranging from simple to complex instruments

  • Work with clients and advisors to commence and complete trust administrations and probates

  • Preference for a candidate with Conservatorship experience and experience in the areas of probate and trust litigation

  • Experience with Propositions 13 and 58, including entity formation and operation, is a plus

Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.

  • Admitted to practice law in California and maintain a good standing.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to provide advice and create comprehensive estate strategies that will meet clients' needs and goals.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and protect clients' privacy.

  • Candidates with proven experience as an estate attorney are strongly preferred

Requirements • Must hold a valid license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.

• Should possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Demonstrated expertise in Estate Planning, Estate Law, and Probate & Estate Administration is required.

• Proven experience in a similar role as an Attorney or Lawyer is essential.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, for client consultations and court proceedings.

• Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and interpret complex legal documents.

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases with varying degrees of complexity.

• Proficiency in legal research tools and software.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest degree of detail-oriented standards.

• Exceptional negotiation skills for achieving the best outcomes for clients.

• Commitment to continual education and staying updated on changes in the law and legal practices.
