As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Major responsibilities
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis Requirements - Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Adeptness in auditing
Strong familiarity with Month-end Financial
Demonstrated knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll
Month-end Reports experience
Experience with Month-end Journal Entries
Month end closings experience
Expertise in Month-end Close Activities
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
CPA/MBA preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
